PMB and Surrounds
The city of Pietermaritzburg is the modern thriving capital of KwaZulu-Natal. It is a rich cultural heritage left behind byt the Voortrekkers in 1838.
Whilst having plenty of restaurants, night clubs, shopping malls and movie theatres, one can't escape the "country" feel. The city is nestled amongst green wooded hillsides with many parks and gardens. The Msunduzi River flows through it and ensures that it is beautiful green all year round.
Festivals, outdorr shows and sporting events draw some 300 000 visitors annually, including the Comrades Marathon, the Duzi canoe Marathon and the Midmar Mile. Our fair city also has a high concentration of historical attractions, which include 50 national monuments, and museums.
There are also four game and nature reserves a mere drive away. fair city also has a high concentration of historical attractions, which include 50 national monuments, and museums.
